As we told you earlier, poor Gok Wan has been suffering from nasty back pains in the last few months.
Despite this our favourite stylist continued working and was looking forward to an appearance of the
celebrity version of “The Million Pound Drop” with close friend Alan Carr. The pair had been rehearsing
and preparing with Davina McCall’s team for weeks. But this week it emerged that Gok Wan had to pull
out of the show at the last minute. An upset Wan told his followers: “Really bad day with my back… Will check in later tweeties. Have a good day”
Later adding: “Not a great day with my back… Love would be greatly appreciated!
x”
The next day Gok retuned after consulting his doctor and revealed: “Tweeties I’m so gutted but I now won’t be on million pound drop with Alan Carr I now have to have an operation on my back. #sadtimes”
But Gok is not the man to be down for long. Despite his discomfort he made the best of a bad time. Updating his faithful followers after spending a day in hospital it became clear Gok had already made a new friend.
”So… I managed to get to know everyone on my ward. We’ve swapped chocolates, gossiped and I dispensed fashion advise! Hospital Chic baby! X” Adding: “So gutted I’m going to be morphined off my yellow nut when I should be camping it up on MPD win Alan Carr and Davina
“ He also had to postpone a working trip to Australia, he was due to host the Westfield Style Tour through Australia and New Zealand during April.
Luckily the operation went well: “Operation complete. Disc’s been removed from my spine. A few weeks to recover and I’m back in Full effect. Thanks to every1 for Support x”
After the operation Gok Wan and his new hospital friends watched Alan and Gok stand in Melanie Sykes on the “Million Pound Drop”.
“Super proud of yoy Mel and Alan Carr on million pound drop! My entire hospital ward has just screamed!!!! X”
Gok seems to be back on his feet rather quickly and is close to being himself again, as he proved last night: “My first sleepless night after my discectomy… Not bad… cleaned my hospital room, checked emails, made a cuppa for the nurses #Allsgood”
