Julian Clary triumphs with premiere of “Position Vacant Apply Within” after Live At The Apollo debacle

New article for Unreality TV

Last night Julian Clary finally officially premiered his new cabaret show and what a joy it was.

The comedian played in front of a packed house that listened to and laughed at every word and were moved when Julian ended with his final song.

In-between was the hilarious search for a husband and of course Julian could find enough willing men with ease.

Julian explained the show saying:

“The show is like an open audition. We will be getting a lot of people up on stage – up to eight. No man will be safe, even though they don’t all have to be men. Like Sticky Moments, there will be a series of elimination rounds.”

“I will have a cattle pen with a white picket fence and a prod so I can herd them into it. The eventual winner will have a gay marriage with me, conducted by a female archbishop. [In the quiz] they’ll be asked to complete the song title, ‘I’m Forever Blowing…’ They will say, ‘Bubbles’, and I will reply, ‘No, I’m afraid the answer I was looking for was ‘Russell Tovey’.”

“They will also have to impersonate me and dance. They will really have to earn the right to marry me. The winner will be the most amusing contestant – it could even be a woman. The ultimate prize is 20 minutes in my dressing room. The winner will be hoiked backstage to spend time with me at the end of the show.”

A fan named Patricia O’Connell tweeted after the show, saying:

“What a show: filth, fun, nuptials and an amazing, moving end. Julian Clary is a must see……”

A happy Julian told his followers on Twitter after the premiere:

“Position Vacant – Apply Within tour is now officially on the road until the end of November. Thank you Barnstaple audience, you were a tonic”

It was a pleasant experience for the Celebrity Big Brother winner, after his terrible experience of performing at Live At The Apollo the night before!
