On Thursday the cast of Red Dwarf finished their first week of shooting their new series.
Things appear to be going well, according to Robert Llewellyn (despite a few spelling errors):
Meanwhile here are some of the details we have on the new series so far:
In addition to daily filming, there was a night recording Tuesday and a very long shoot on Wednesday that Danny John-Jules himself talked about on Twitter:
“filming in a power station in Southampton. Audience of 50 and all beside themselves. (…)I’m on a stretcher!!”
He shared a sneak peak of the set, saying: “This is what I’ve been watching for the last 2 hours …. Who needs TV when you have ‘ALIENS!’”
It seems that in good old Red Dwarf tradition said power station was extremely cold and to keep warm the cast were given some alcohol to keep warm.
”Port and Brandy!” This of course had an additional effect, as Danny admitted when asked how he was: “Drunk!”
Hopefully there was not too much of a hangover, as the next day the cast continued filming in the new forest.
Meanwhile, Richard Naylor revealed a much missed set piece will make it’s return:
